Knowing Gods intentions

38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”[b]
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Luke 19:38

Jesus is riding into Jerusalem on a colt while the people of the city are shouting Hosanna in the highest. Within the weeks time, He will be hated by all who claimed His sovereignty .

Jesus knew that his life was coming to an end. He knew that those who adored his name will come to despise it within the weeks end. The people who shouted his name were under the impression that Jesus will finally free them from their Roman oppressors. Jesus did not deliver, as the new earthly King of Israel. They did not expect that Jesus would come to save them from a bigger oppression. Sin.

I'm blindsided by what I want that I forget what Jesus has intended in my life. My selfishness in my faith causes me to miss the point in how God uses situations to rebuke and refine me. Rather than trying to frame what I want in the way the Spirit moves, I need to separate and remember that Christ's plans are his only. I need to trust that he is in control and not blame God for the wrongs in my life. Everything happens for a reason and in the end God knows best.

Forgive me for my selfishness in wanting to frame your works into my plans. Help me to live faithfully in you and understand that I'm only a small part in your intricate cog to build your kingdom. Help me to do my best to be that cog and drive that spiritual motor for those who don't know you.

In Jesus Name
Amen.
