24 Furthermore, Josiah got rid of the mediums and spiritists, the household gods, the idols and all the other detestablethings seen in Judah and Jerusalem. This he did to fulfill the requirements of the law written in the book that Hilkiah the priest had discovered in the temple of the Lord. 25 Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses.
2 Kings 23:24-25
King Josiah turned back to God getting rid of all the things that are detestable in the eyes of the Lord. To save his kingdom from falling on God's wraith he did it with all his heart, soul and strength based on the Laws of Moses. He is noted in the bible to be the only person to have turn to the Lord with such passion - none before him or after him is zealous for God.
With the strong convictions I've had in my heart since the mission trip, I need to focus on turning back to God as Josiah did. He rid of all the harmful things that would lead astray the Israelites from God and also changed his behavior to live according to the Law of Moses. This was not enough to quell God's wraith against Judah because of the former king Manasseh. Likewise God is telling me I need to rid of all the things in my life that keeps me away from communing with Jesus and truly pray for Pathway. The HS is convicting me to live a life pleasing to Him. I am bound to fail, so then I ask the holy spirit to help me live a life separate from the world.
Thank you Jesus for the Gospel message of grace and mercy. You have clothe me with your righteous so that we are no longer bound by sin, but free to serve you with all my heart. I pray Jesus to help me overcome the difficulties of temptation. Help me to have the same passion like Josiah and to love the people so much that I would rid idols even if it meant that i would be dispised by the people i'm in contact with. Help me to please you rather than them.
Thank you
In Jesus Name
Amen.
