28 Then the Jewish leaders took Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness they did not enter the palace, because they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.

John 18:28

Jewish leaders did not enter into the palace for it was deemed uncleaned. What I find ironic is that the Jewish leaders were persecuting the Jesus and all the while observing the laws of Moses. Like white washed tombstones, they dressed themselves to be presented Holy in front of men, but to focus on themselves to miss God completely. 

I do these works at church, but I need to refocus myself on the Gospel. I do it out of love for Jesus not to act holy in front of men. I do not want to be like the religious leaders, but seek out that life to have that deep connection with Christ so that my actions would be a reflection of God's love. 

Jesus... I feel tired and it was difficult for me to read the Word. I ask Jesus that you would re-excite me to have that passion and conviction to read your word daily. Forgive me for the lack of obedience and discipline. I want to do kingdom work as a result of my love for you. Not out of obligations or recognition from God. Jesus sustain me.. Calm my soul and nerves, so that nothing else matters except you.
